Steve's Bio ::. for the better. These past seven years being involved with Chi Alpha Christian Fellowship has changed my God view, life view and world view. The five and half as student and year and half as a staff member have had significant impact on my life. Freshman year I had this intensity to worship and experience the presence of God and it was amazing just time with Him by myself and soaking in His presence. It was like hot humid day in Houston which is all the time and dipping myself into a nice cool river and refreshes your body, mind and soul. Second year of school was the year of relationships with the Lord and the my brothers in Christ. Relationships are everything when it comes to walking out Christianity in the flesh. It is then when I discovered how amazing Godly conversation is and how important a devotional life is as well. That is when I read through my first Christian book and it was "The Pursuit of God" by A. W. Tozer. The third year was about putting to practice with guys that God gave, my first "small group." The fourth year was about being with God and others in my life to be with God. That was the year that I moved in with one of my closest friends in the entire world, Jason Bell and when I met my wife even though I didn't know it at that time. The fifth year was about the "call" that God put on my life. Over the years God was dealing with me, remember I dreamed of playing college basketball and God ask me to give it up and it was better than what I could dream for myself. I got to go to Mexico City, Juarez, Belgium, Netherlands, France, and Morocco plus other journeys around the US. |

| With all of these adventures and challenges, God was prodding me in to full-time campus ministry. For the last year in a half I am been serving God in that capacity. This past year I finished my internship with Chi Alpha Campus Ministries, and it was an amazing experience of learning and see God move through students lives. Also, this past year I got married to Jennifer Guinn Brannon and we are in the process currently raise funds to go to Belgium for a year to see if God is calling us full-time to campus ministry in Europe and if we are not we will start a Chi Alpha on a campus state side. Right now, is just an exciting and each day God is dealing with me more and more about trusting Him. |

Excitement tempered with nervousness was all I felt when I started college August 1999. I was ready to go do the college thing – whatever that meant, even though I was at Sam Houston State University b/c Texas A&M didn’t work out; whole ‘nother story. I had just come back from a summer mission trip to Brazil and it wasn’t until a couple months into college that I made the correlation between telling people about Christ and feeding myself /surrounding myself with ways and people in order to learn about Christ so what I told people actually made since and actually drew them and showed them the love of God. So, my sister, Belinda introduced me to Chi Alpha Christian Fellowship and it was fun – met really nice people, really enjoyed myself and the speaker and worship and such. But, I still hurried off as soon as it was over so I could go to my small, empty dorm room and watch my recorded video of Friends that night. As the months progressed and I joined a small group, I began to understand what it meant to fellowship and draw from the knowledge and love of other Christians. It all got GREAT from there – I hung out with these people, called and talked with these genuine people and really fed off of what the Lord was teaching me. That summer I went on a mission trip with XA – Christ Ambassadors – to Amsterdam, Belgium, and Northern Africa. Man was that intense! God taught and taught and showed and molded me as I shared His story, His love, His compassion to other peoples. |
