You start a fire with grass and wood,
But it seemed my grass and wood would not light; They became damp with the waters of sin.
I tried to light it with the flames of men,
And it worked;
The fire burned big for a second, then the flames quickly dwindled down to nothing.
I needed eternal flames.
Flames I could not create,
Flames that would not be a quick fix from humanity.
So I prayed to The Lord, Rekindle! Rekindle!
It needed not just to be a sorry prayer,
But it needed repentance,
A change in heart.
A sincere I’m sorry and an offering of self to The Lord.
Saying no to Satan,
No to sin,
And yes to salvation.
I give Jesus my temptation,
My hesitation,
And to Satan my resignation.
He can no longer hold against me all of sins citations,
Because in Christ I am a new creation.
Hell will no longer be my destination,
For the Lord made his proclamation,
He gave me restoration,
And in my heart he made a transformation.
To him I yield my consecration,
His spirit empowers to reach from nation to nation,
Through him we can change this generation.
